Experienced Grant Writer Sought for Innovative Non-Profit Micro/Private School
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Grant Writer to secure critical funding for our unique micro/private school initiative operating in the Tri-City area. This is a contract position operating under a limited budget for professional fees.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully writing and winning grants, specifically for educational programs, non-profit startups, or small, innovative learning environments like microschools or non-profits. Deep familiarity with local or regional funding sources that support such organizations in the Batavia/Tri-City area is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:

Identify and research suitable grant opportunities (local, state, and federal) aligned with the school's mission and goals.

Develop compelling, persuasive, and well-researched grant narratives, proposals, and all necessary supporting documents.

Manage the entire grant lifecycle for secured funding, including preparation, submission, and necessary follow-up reporting.

Collaborate closely with the microschool leadership team to articulate needs, goals, and project budgets clearly and accurately.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2-4 years of professional grant writing experience.

Demonstrated success in securing funding for educational or non-profit initiatives.

Specific experience with or strong knowledge of the microschool model is highly preferred.

Familiarity with the funding landscape/donors in or near Batavia, IL (Tri-City area) is essential.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Compensation Structure: This contract position is offered within a limited budget allocated for professional grant writing services. We strongly prefer a split payment structure to ensure both commitment and timely completion:

Initial Retainer: Paid upfront upon contract signing.

Final Payment: Paid upon the successful submission of the final agreed-upon grant proposal(s) or completion of the contracted scope of work.
