About Us
Located in Batavia, Vanguard Gifted Academy is a not-for-profit independent K-5 private school dedicated to providing an exceptional education for gifted children. Amy Trujillo serves as the Head of School, stepping into the role in July 2025 with a robust educational background spanning Gifted Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. Previously, she served as President of both the Florida Association of Science Teachers and the Florida Association for the Gifted. Dedicated to community enrichment, Amy loves facilitating interactive math circles and math festivals, and she is available to host these engaging events for free at local businesses or provide specialized training for organization staff. The academy personalizes each student's learning journey by creating authentic, hands-on experiences that move beyond the traditional classroom. Its mission is to guide these bright young minds toward a life of discovery, empowering them to become the confident innovators of tomorrow.
