CITY OF BATAVIA ANNOUNCES OPEN BIDDING FOR REMOVAL, RELOCATION OF TIN SHOP
BATAVIA, IL – The City of Batavia’s Community and Economic Development Department is now accepting sealed Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the removal and relocation of the Tin Shop building, located at 106 N. River Street. Proposals will be accepted until noon on April 18, 2025.
The City is seeking proposals to relocate the structure as a whole or dismantle and remove it entirely. The project will not impact other nearby structures, such as the garage at 112 N. River Street and the MainStreet shed.
Project Objective
The City aims to clear the site for future redevelopment, including the construction of a new public restroom facility. This RFP allows interested parties to relocate the Tin Shop building to another site, either in its entirety or through dismantling and reconstruction. To facilitate timely removal or relocation, the City is open to proposals with a zero-dollar acquisition cost.
Additional Requirements
Any awarded proposal must ensure complete removal of the building, including its foundation, with proper site restoration using clean fill, topsoil, and seeding per City specifications.
