Batavia United Way Awards $130,000 in Community Impact Grants to Strengthen Local Programs

Batavia United Way is proud to announce the awarding of $130,000 in Community Impact Grants to local nonprofit programs serving Batavia residents during the 2026–2027 funding year.

The grants will support programs that advance Batavia United Way's four focus areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency. Through these investments, local organizations will provide essential services that help individuals and families overcome challenges, build stability, and improve quality of life.

"One of the greatest strengths of Batavia United Way is our ability to bring people together to create meaningful community impact," said Kathy Evangelista, Executive Director of Batavia United Way. "These grants represent the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the incredible work of our nonprofit partners. Together, we are investing in programs that strengthen our community and improve lives every day."

To celebrate this year's grant awards, Batavia United Way hosted a Community Impact Grant Reception on July 1 at the Peg Bond Center, where representatives from funded organizations gathered to network, celebrate their shared mission, and receive the first installment of their grant awards. Despite the summer heat, agency representatives came together to reaffirm their commitment to serving Batavia residents through collaboration and partnership.

Batavia United Way extends its sincere appreciation to the Batavia Park District for generously donating the Peg Bond Center for the reception and helping make the celebration possible.

Community Impact Grants are made possible through the generosity of individuals, businesses, corporate partners, and volunteers who invest in Batavia United Way's annual campaign. Rather than funding a single program, these grants create a network of support that addresses some of the community's greatest needs and ensures resources are directed where they can make the greatest impact.

In addition to grant funding, Batavia United Way continues to operate and support key initiatives including Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Batavia, the Success By 6 Preschool Scholarship Program, the Community Assistance Fund, and the beloved Holiday Adopt-A-Family program, as well as a variety of community volunteer events throughout the year.
