Batavia Indoor Market Season Starts November 1 at Sturdy Shelter Brewing

Batavia MainStreet is thrilled to announce the start of the Indoor Market season, beginning Saturday, November 1, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Sturdy Shelter Brewing (10 S. Shumway Ave.). The Indoor Market will run every Saturday through mid-May, offering a cozy, community-centered shopping experience all winter long.

This season marks an exciting new chapter as the market moves to its new location at Sturdy Shelter Brewing, highlighting a growing partnership between two downtown favorites.

Each week, more than 20 local vendors will bring a diverse selection of goods including fresh produce, farm-raised meats, eggs, baked goods, hot sauces, gourmet mushrooms, pickles, kombucha, and more. All vendors are required to grow, harvest, or produce at least 75% of their market offerings. A weekly vendor list will be posted on Facebook and Instagram at @bataviafarmersmarket.

Returning favorites include:

  • Van Laar’s Fruit Farm with their beloved apple cider donuts, breads, and apples
  • Mighty Greens Farm offering lettuce, salad blends, and seasonal produce grown in Elburn
  • Hufendick Farm featuring locally raised beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and more

New vendors joining this year’s Indoor Market include:
  • North Sky Farm bringing organic cow's milk cheese
  • Rosewood Farm from Sugar Grove, with fall and winter vegetables, canned goods, herb salts, and dried florals
  • Ugly Noodle, offering gluten-free handmade pastas

Guests can also enjoy breakfast and beverages while they shop. Sturdy Shelter Brewing will be serving its popular brews on tap, along with specialty breakfast drinks. Delicious ready-to-eat options will be available from Fernando’s Street Kitchen, featuring Mexican-inspired breakfast dishes, Little Luxe Stacks with their specialty mini pancakes, and more. The upper mezzanine will be open for seating, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere to enjoy the morning.

“After your visit to the Indoor Market, make sure to stop by downtown Batavia’s nearby small businesses,” said Kristen Desler, Assistant Director of Batavia MainStreet. “You’ll find unique local products like CBD items for humans and pets at Urban Apothecary & Fat Sam’s for Pets, expertly curated vintage and repurposed furnishings at Warehouse 55, and wonderful shopping along Wilson Street—from Red Hive Market and the Batavia Boardwalk Shops to the Wilson Street Mercantile. The Batavia Indoor Market proudly accepts SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, which may be used to purchase approved food items at the market. Shoppers can also double their benefits with Link Match, a dollar-for-dollar match for the purchase of fresh, local fruits and vegetables. The Link Match program is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP).

Batavia MainStreet extends special thanks to the Indoor Market presenting sponsors, Leafguard and AAA Roofing, and our generous host, Sturdy Shelter Brewing.
