Batavia High School Students Selected for State Art Exhibition
BATAVIA, IL — Three students from Batavia High School have been selected to showcase their artwork at the 13th Annual Illinois High School Art Exhibition, one of the state’s premier showcases for high school artists.
Amelia (Mimi) Patterson, Jane Lishamer, and Benjamin Wash were chosen to exhibit their work among approximately 1,000 student artists from more than 125 high schools across Illinois. Their selection also qualifies them for consideration for college scholarships offered through the exhibition.
As of press time, Batavia High School seniors participating in the exhibition have collectively received $661,000 in college scholarship offers, with additional awards still being processed.
The exhibition will run from March 14 through April 18 at the Bridgeport Art Center. In addition to the senior scholarship exhibition, six more Batavia High School students will have artwork featured in the Northern Regional Exhibition, a “Best of the Best” show highlighting outstanding student work from across Illinois.
The Illinois High School Art Exhibition connects high school artists with representatives from more than 40 art schools, colleges, and universities nationwide and has helped facilitate more than $192 million in tuition scholarships since its founding in 2013.
