Batavia Boardwalk Shops Launch Sixth Season with New Vendors, Global Flavors, and a Ribbon Cutting Celebration

BATAVIA, IL – The much-anticipated 2025 season of the Batavia Boardwalk Shops kicks off with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 9 in downtown Batavia. Now in its sixth season, this popular shopping destination invites visitors to experience a unique collection of 10 locally owned micro-shops offering everything from globally inspired baked goods to handcrafted home décor.

Nestled along the riverwalk in the heart of downtown, the Boardwalk Shops are a hub for creativity, culture, and community. This year’s lineup showcases an exciting blend of new and returning entrepreneurs, with a special emphasis on cultural diversity and craftsmanship. Shoppers can explore thoughtfully curated home goods from A Rooted Home, delicious international treats from AHA Kapeh Traditional Bread, bold jewelry and décor from Scout + Gem, authentic African and Caribbean offerings from Kumba’s African Market, and much more.

“The Boardwalk Shops continue to be a launchpad for local small businesses and a destination for unique, high-quality shopping experiences," said Kristen Desler, Batavia MainStreet’s Assistant Director. “Each season, we welcome businesses that bring something unique to downtown Batavia. Our hope is that the community shows up, supports them, and helps these small businesses grow and stay local for years to come.”

The 2025 season features shops that celebrate heritage, artistry, and specialty products, including women's fashion, handmade sweets, premium pet goods, gaming supplies, and crochet creations. After exploring the Boardwalk, visitors are encouraged to continue their day downtown with Batavia’s outstanding restaurants, breweries, and additional retail destinations.

Boardwalk Shops hours:

• Fridays: 11 AM – 5 PM
• Saturdays: 9 AM – 5 PM
• Sundays: 11 AM – 4 PM
