Artist Submissions Are Now Open for Inaugural Windmill City (Fine Art) Fest
BATAVIA, IL – A new opportunity for local artists and enthusiasts is blowing into town this summer at Batavia's inaugural Windmill City (Fine Art) Fest.
The Fine Art Fest, presented by the Batavia Depot Museum and the Batavia Park District, will take place indoors at the new Callahan Community Center Sky Loft during the annual Windmill City Festival on Saturday, July 11 from noon to 8 p.m. It's an unconventional indoor evening art show where artists can trade crack-of-dawn set up, heat stroke and mosquitos for gorgeous sunset river views, climate control, and a rocking evening crowd.
Artists are invited to apply by June 22 for the chance to show and sell their work. Applications will be reviewed by a jury and accepted artists notified by June 26.
Windmill City Festival annually welcomes thousands of local and regional visitors to Batavia's picturesque Riverwalk with live music, delicious food and drink, and exciting games and carnival rides. The newest addition to the festival is the Callahan Community Center, where the Sky Loft room is the perfect vantage point to observe all the action on the festival grounds from the comfort of air conditioning.
Batavia Park District staff will be onsite all day to support artists and lead kid friendly art and science activities.
