Primroses to Prairie Garden Walk

Imagine stately gardens surrounding an 1850’s Prairie Italianate home that once hid escaping slaves in the Underground Railroad, then picture a lush garden transformed from a former limestone quarry overlooking the Fox River. These fascinating gardens and many more are open for exploring during the“Primroses to Prairie” Garden Walk sponsored by the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners Club on June 20th, from 10 am to 4 pm. Advance tickets costing $12.50 are available at the Batavia Park District, 327W. Wilson and various area businesses. The day of the walk, tickets may be purchased for $15.00 at the historic Government Center, 100 N. Island Avenue in Batavia. Also come enjoy tea at the Government Center, browse the garden arts and crafts offered for sale and take a walk through the Wildflower Sanctuary along the Batavia Riverwalk.
