CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FORUM
This April, eight of the 14 aldermanic seats in the City of Batavia will be up for election. Your Chamber Legislative Affairs Committee has scheduled a forum so you can meet and hear from those who want to represent you as the City moves into our collective futures.
The 10 candidates for these seats have been asked to submit written answers to six important questions:
- What is your position on the construction of a second bridge now that it has been sited?
- Where do you stand on the use of TIF funds for streetscape redesign?
- How do you think current and future TIF funds can best be used in support of the entire community?
- In what specific ways should the City encourage economic development? How might economic development differ downtown, on Randall Road and in the industrial areas?
- What do you see as your most important job as an alderman?
- What is your most important priority in 2011-12?
Their responses are avaialable at: http://www.bataviachamber.org/documents/AldermanAnswers.pdf.
