Batavia United Way Awards $140,000 in Community Impact Grants to 21 Local Partners
Batavia, IL - The Batavia United Way board of directors is thrilled to announce the allocation of $140,000 in Community Impact Grants to 21 nonprofit and service-based organizations that are making a tangible difference in the Batavia community.
Programs that have been awarded grants include Batavia RSVP, Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry & Clothes Closet, Batavia Public Schools, Boys & Girls Club of North Central IL, CASA Kane County, Easter Seals of DuPage & Fox Valley, ElderDay Center, Fox Valley Food for Health, Fox Valley Hands of Hope, and Kane Senior Council, Lazarus House, Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley, Mercy Housing-Batavia Apartments, Mutual Ground, Northwestern Medicine-Living Well Cancer Resource, Salvation Army Tri-City, Suicide Prevention Services, TriCity Family Services, Tri City Health Partnership, Valley Sheltered Workshop (VSW), and Water Street Studios. These grants focus on four core impact areas: better healthcare access, expanded youth opportunities, financial security, and community resilience.
This year’s grants reflect Batavia United Way’s renewed mission to inspire strong partnerships and creatively address the ever-changing needs of Batavians, while securing vital pathways for families and individuals to thrive.
“For more than 95 years, Batavia United Way has been rooted in this community, and we’re proud to continue supporting the organizations doing essential work on the ground,” said Kathy Evangelista, Executive Director. “This year’s recipients represent a broad spectrum of services and impact—meeting urgent needs and helping build a stronger, more connected Batavia.”
In addition to grant funding, Batavia United Way continues to operate and support key initiatives including Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Batavia, the Success By 6 Preschool Scholarship Program, the Community Assistance Fund, and the beloved Holiday Adopt-A-Family program, as well as a variety of community volunteer events throughout the year.
