Batavia Public School District 101 Welcomes Two New Administrators
Batavia Public School District 101 is pleased to announce the hiring of two new administrators who will join the District’s leadership team beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Lissette Jacobson has been named the District’s next Director of Curriculum and Multilingual Learning, and Joshua Louis has been named the next Principal of Rotolo Middle School. Both administrators bring extensive educational leadership experience and a strong commitment to student-centered learning, relationship-building, and continuous improvement.
“Batavia Public School District 101 is fortunate to welcome two outstanding educational leaders to our team,” said Superintendent Tom Kim. “Both Lissette and Josh bring tremendous experience, passion, and a clear commitment to supporting students, staff, and families. We are excited for the impact they will have on our schools and learning community.”
Lissette Jacobson – Director of Curriculum and Multilingual Learning
Jacobson most recently served as the Director of Curriculum for Multilingual Learners for Huntley Community School District 158, where she oversaw multilingual programming and services for students in Pre-K through grade 12. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district administrator.
She holds a master’s degree in Literacy Education with an emphasis in bilingual and ESL education, as well as a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University. “What excites me most about joining BPS101 is the opportunity to lead both curriculum and multilingual learning in a district that clearly values innovation, student-centered learning, and continuous improvement,” said Jacobson. “I believe all students benefit when systems are designed with access and inclusion in mind from the start.” Jacobson said her immediate focus will be learning from the Batavia school community while continuing to strengthen instructional systems and supports for all learners. “My top priorities are building strong relationships, learning from the community, and understanding the systems and structures already in place across the district,” she said. “Ultimately, my goal is to help create cohesive systems that support both academic achievement and a strong sense of belonging for all students.”
Born in Chicago and raised in Waukegan, Jacobson enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, Maxwell and Christopher. Together, they enjoy reading, following sports, visiting museums, and exploring nature.
Joshua Louis – Principal, Rotolo Middle School
Louis currently serves as Principal of Sandburg Middle School in Elmhurst District 205. Prior to his current role, he spent much of his career in Naperville Community Unit School District 203, serving as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, and elementary principal.
A Batavia native, Louis said the opportunity to return to the community is especially meaningful. “What excites me most about joining BPS101 is the opportunity to become part of a district and community with a strong reputation for supporting students, valuing relationships, and pursuing continuous growth,” said Louis. “Throughout the interview process, it was clear that Batavia is a community that cares deeply about both academic excellence and the overall student experience.”
As he prepares to step into the leadership role at Rotolo Middle School, Louis says relationship-building and collaboration will guide his approach. “My top priorities will be listening, learning, and building relationships throughout the school community,” he said. “I believe strong schools are built on trust, collaboration, and clear systems that support both students and staff.” Outside of school, Louis enjoys activities that keep him active and connected to others through recreation, community events, and service opportunities.
Batavia Public School District 101 looks forward to welcoming both leaders to the District and the Batavia community in the coming months.
