About Us
VSW located in Batavia, IL, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for adults with cognitive/intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to create purposeful work opportunities that enhance the self-worth, independence, and overall well-being of our participants. We offer various programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, allowing them to engage in meaningful activities at their own pace.
At VSW, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to contribute to their community and experience the dignity that comes with employment. Our innovative approach includes partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, and government municipalities to create job environments that accommodate the spectrum of disabilities. This collaborative effort ensures that our participants are integral members of a workforce that values their contributions.
Our core programs include a Permanent Supportive Program for individuals requiring lifelong supportive employment, a Community Supportive Program that serves as a stepping stone to traditional employment, and a Volunteer Program designed for seniors and retirees. VSW is entirely free for our participants and their families, making it a vital resource within our community.
By joining VSW, community members support a cause that fosters inclusion, independence, and the belief that everyone, regardless of ability, can achieve their best life.
