Membership & Engagement Coordinator
The Batavia Chamber of Commerce is seeking an outgoing, relationship-driven professional to serve as our Membership & Engagement Coordinator. This position plays an important role in membership growth, engagement, retention, and community relationship building.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, professional, and comfortable building relationships with business owners and community leaders. This role requires someone who enjoys networking, sales, customer service, and being visible in the community. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about community connections, enjoys building relationships, and takes pride in supporting local businesses.

Primary Responsibilities
• Recruit new Chamber members through outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship building
•Proactively identify, contact, and engage prospective members through phone, email, and in-person visits
• Develop and track membership leads and maintain productive relationships with prospective members
• Serve as a welcoming and responsive point of contact for Chamber members
• Conduct member visits and check-ins to strengthen engagement and retention
• Oversee and coordinate the Chamber Ambassador Committee, including meetings, communication, and member outreach activities
• Assist with member onboarding and ensure new members understand Chamber benefits and opportunities
• Make accounts receivable follow-up calls and assist with membership collections in a professional and positive manner
• Attend Chamber events, networking functions, ribbon cuttings, and community activities
•Assist with event preparation, registration, and member engagement at Chamber events as needed
• Maintain accurate member records and communication within Chamber software systems
• Promote Chamber programs, events, sponsorships, and opportunities to members and prospective members
• Support the Chamber’s mission of promoting business growth and community connections
Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven experience in sales, business development, account management, or a related field
• Comfortable speaking with business owners and community leaders
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Professional appearance and demeanor with a warm, approachable, and personable communication style
• Ability to work occasional early morning, evening, or community events outside standard business hours
• Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM databases, and social media
• Chamber, nonprofit, hospitality, or community organization experience is a plus
• Knowledge of the Batavia business community is beneficial
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Associate degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
