Position:  Finance Coordinator

Position Type: Part-time

Reports To: Finance Director

Summary: The Finance coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating vendor and contract management, and supporting audits, budgeting, and compliance processes. This role ensures integrity in financial reporting and supports the Foundation’s operations and certifications.

 

Responsibilities

1. Record all financial transactions in the Foundation’s accounting software.

2. Manage/process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

3. Prepare and review monthly bank statements; reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

4. Support annual audits, 990 preparation, and accreditation process by gathering and organizing documentation.

5. Process checks and payments, grants and scholarships, and work with Foundation staff to ensure payments are made promptly and efficiently.

6. Maintain vendor and contract relationships, ensuring accurate billing and efficient workflows.

7. Develop a strong understanding of the Foundation’s financial systems, processes, and reporting requirements.

8. Support the daily donor and investor transactions and ensure accurate processing and documentation.

9. Support the President & CEO and the Finance Director as needed in preparing documents for the Board of Directors’ and committee meetings

10. Maintain documentation and records required for audits, tax filing and regulatory reporting.

11. Ensure compliance for tax filings and year-end reporting (1099).

10. Other duties as needed and determined by the President and CEO and the Director of Finance.

Requirements

Qualifications

1. 2 years or more experience in areas of bookkeeping or accounting

2. Highly organized 

3. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple projects with various deadlines

4. Extreme attention to detail

5. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

6. Proficient typing and computer skills, database management, knowledge of various software programs and packages including Microsoft Office 365

7. Ability to adapt to demands of a growing organization

8. Ability to work in a high-paced environment

9. Ability to work as a team member, collaborating with and supporting other staff as needed

10. Ability to have customer service a top priority

11. Not-for-Profit experience preferred

12. Bachelor’s degree in accounting a plus but not necessary depending on experience.

Salary Description
$25 -$35 hour
