"The Trip to Bountiful" follows our Mrs. Watts through her physical and emotional journey home. Director, Jennifer Ring, says, “‘The Trip to Bountiful’ is about breaking free. It’s about tolerating the daily abuses of thosearound you, about finding a way to stand up for yourself, about finding the joy in the little things in life, about what it means to be a man, but most of all, it’s about finding yourself." Dorothy Attermeyer of Hinsdale plays Mrs. Carrie Watts: the strong-willed widow that clings to thememory of her hometown. Her son, Ludie Watts (Nate Soesbe of Naperville) is torn between loyalty to his mother and affection for his wife, the resentful Jessie May Watts (Shelly Rolf of Geneva). Inher quest to return to her hometown, Mrs. Watts meets several characters, brought to life by a company of talented actors: Ticket Taker #1/Driver (Richard Wilson of Aurora); Thelma (Tricia Hewson ofWest Dundee); Sheriff/Man (Benjamin Determan of Bartlett); Woman (Jessica Shinofield of Aurora); Ticket Taker #2 (Michael Gustin of Batavia) and Roy (Ron Gustin of Batavia). When you start with text that is full and rich with characters it makes a huge difference. Add to that, my great fortune to have some truly talented performers in my cast, and the experience has been a complete joy.” “The Trip to Bountiful” will run weekends April 27th – May 12th.
