This year's line-up:
Jay Goeppner and Friends
Jay has performed in 20 countries (including Liverpool, England during “International Beatles Week”) with his John Lennon tribute band – “Backdated.”
During normal times, “Backdated” performs as a classic rock band in bars and at festivals all over the Chicagoland area. Goeppner joined “The Class of ’68 Band” about four years ago. It also performs at local festivals and clubs. “2 Jay Way” is a pop duo which was able to perform at outdoor venues during the summer of 2020 due to its small size. “The Jay Goeppner Band” focuses on original music.
Goeppner is the lead vocalist/tambourine player with all of the bands.
Jay is also a member of the legendary Chicago “Beatle Brothers” who were prominent features on the Jonathon Brandmeier Show. Videos can still be found on You Tube.
Cox’s Army
Formed locally in 1969 with original members: John Feiza, Larry Zimmer, Ken Clark, Dave Johnson, and Dick Strohmenger. The band played clubs, high schools, colleges, concert halls, and festivals across the United States sharing the stage with such notable bands as: REO, The Flock, Cryin Shames, Corky Siegel, Fuse, Conquor Worm, just to name a few. Dan Moulton replaced Dave Johnson on drums and soon after Ken Clark left. The band recorded an album with Chapparrel records in 1971 and released a 45. George Millspaugh joined the band on guitar and vocals after the album was released and in 1972 the band went its separate ways.
Emanon II (featuring Joe Cuttone of The Hounds)
Formed out of St. High School in the early 1980’s Emanon II was touted as one of the “up and coming bands” in the Chicago area while being featured prominently in local media outlets and Chicagoland tabloids. Emanon headlined all over Chicagoland, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Much of it along the Fox River Valley with weekly performances at Malo's in Aurora and Master Jack’s in St Charles. Emanon shared stages with Survivor, Off Broadway, The Hounds, Moonlight Drive, The Boyzz and later, Dirt’s Raiders and The B’zz.
Joining Emanon will be legendary Chicago bass player: Joe Cuttone. Joe was a member of The Hounds with who he recorded the albums “Unleashed” and “Puttin’ On The Dog” for Columbia Records in Los Angeles, California. The Band will cover two Hounds songs. The members have since scattered throughout the United States and will be coming back to Batavia to perform together live for the first time in over 40 years! Trivia: Emanon is “no name” backwards.
Blue Voo Doo
A legendary Batavia band, Blue Voodoo has been called “the ultimate bar band” but they are as much at home on a festival stage or large venue as they are in your local club. Described as having “one foot in the blues, and the other on the gas” the band has been together for over 30 years. They bring a wide range of experience, and a set list of originals and covers that reads like the who’s-who of what rocks.”
Featured on WLUP numerous times, Blue VooDoo is sure to bring it to their hometown of Batavia.
