Description
The mission statement, Always Learning. Always Growing, applies not only to the Batavia Public School District, but also to the District's new superintendent, Dr. Lisa Hichens. Join us on June 11 to hear Dr Hichens share her story and the wisdom she has gleaned.
We will also be collecting non-perishable food for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry. Be sure to bring something for those less fortunate--as summer approaches, many children will no longer get food at school. They rely on our generosity.
Serving as the principal at Batavia High School since 2009, Dr. Hichens has amassed twelve years of teaching and administrative experience within Batavia Public Schools. She first joined the district in 1994 as a mathematics teacher at Batavia High School and progressed to other leadership roles including serving as Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning, a post she held from 2005 to 2009.
Dr. Hichens earned her Ed. D in Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction from Aurora University, where she also earned her superintendent’s endorsement. She received her Master of Science degree Educational Leadership and her Type 75 General Administrative Certificate from Northern Illinois University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois. Dr. Hichens lives in Naperville with her husband Mathew and their children, Emma and Owen.
