Description
The Albright Theatre proudly presents “Fuddy Meers” by David Lindsay-Abaire. TODAY IS THE FIRSTDAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE…AGAIN. There is no forgetting the second Main-Stage production of The Albright's 39th season: “Fuddy Meers” by David Lindsay-Abaire. Claire has a rare form of amnesia that erases her memory when she sleeps, leaving her husband to explain her condition over and over again. But then, a limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man appears and claims to be her brother, there to save her. Claire is hustled off to the home of her mother, a recent stroke victim whosespeech has been reduced to utter gibberish. To complicate matters further, a dimwitted thug with a foul-mouthed hand puppet, Claire’s husband, her perpetually stoned son, and a claustrophobic female cop are thrown into the mix. Each twist brings Claire closer to discovering her past, while surrounded by alarmingly bizarre characters. “Imagine if you woke up every morning and had no clue who youwere or where you are. You have been living this way for years, but suddenly something changes andyou don’t know why. This is ‘Fuddy Meers’. I absolutely love this show. It is plain crazy and a tonof fun,” remarks Duerdoth. Erin Cauley of St. Charles is Claire, the confused amnesiac with a sunny disposition. She is whisked away to her mother’s country home (Gertie - played by Amy Setencich of Batavia) by the lisping, Limping Man (Jon Witt of Naperville). Here, they meet the Limping Man’s hand puppet wielding sidekick, Millet (Alexander Seymour of Aurora). Claire’s husband, Richard (Scott Rolf of Geneva) and her son, Kenny (Philip J. Roth IV of Streamwood) are on a mission to findher when they are joined by Heidi, the “lady cop” (Emily Champlin of Naperville). This nutty cast isled by Co-directors Kristen Duerdoth of Geneva and Jennifer Ring of Batavia, and are supported by Production Assistant, Jennifer Richardson of Batavia. This partnership of Co-directors has been asuccessful one: “We’ve got a good cast who come to each rehearsal ready to work hard having fun withthese characters and their bizarre situations. My Co-director and I work really well together whichjust adds to the experience,” says Ring. Duerdoth agrees: “I think we complement each other very well. Together, we have assembled a stellar cast and I love working with all of them. They are brilliant and each of them has brought something wonderful to the table – I haven’t laughed this hard in along time. This is definitely a show you don’t want to miss!”” *** Please note that this hilarious comedy is rated MA(LD) due to adult language and suggestive dialogue and is meant for mature audiences *** “Fuddy Meers” will run weekends November 2nd – 17th.
