At 1:30 on Sunday, May 3rd, the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance and director, Katheryn Barrett-Brown, will perform a concert in commemoration of the organization's 10th anniversary. This year's Fox Valley Academy Concerto Competition Winner Clare Scheidler, violinist of Aurora will perform Vivaldi's charming Violin Concerto, La Stavaganza "The Eccentric" In addition to Vivaldi's concerto, the Academy Orchestra will perform composer Peter Heidrich's Happy Birthday Variations which sets the familiar tune in the various styles of famous composers throughout music history. Also on the program, the Youth Strings will perform well-known works of other Baroque and Classical composers. The Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance is the umbrella organization for the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra. The Philharmonic will perform in concert at 3:00pm. Enjoy an exuberant experience in the welcoming venue of Bethlehem Church in St. Charles. Admission to the concert is free, but donations are appreciated. The church is located at 1145 N. 5th Avenue, St. Charles, just a few blocks northeast of Main Street and the Fox River, with plenty of parking.
