Tom Walter, CEO of award-winning, Chicago-area based Tasty Catering, will give the keynote presentation at the Leadership Forum Recognition Luncheon, Friday, June 3, 2011, at Lincoln Inn Banquets. Tom has been a food service and real estate entrepreneur for more than 40 years, starting 29 businesses and acquiring three more. Tom’s emphasis on creating the right culture, developing multi-generational leadership, and nurturing service excellence has earned Tasty Catering regional, industry, and national recognition with awards such as Catering Magazine’s Caterer of the Year (2008), Inc. Magazine’s Top 20 Winning Workplaces (2010), #1 Best Places to Work in Illinois (2008, 2009), the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics (2009), and #7 on Crain’s Top Places to Work (2010).

Tom’s notable leadership garnered his election to the Chicago Area Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame in 2010. He advises numerous enterprises and serves as a member of DePaul University’s Marketing Advisory Council and U.I.C.’s Advisory Board for the Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies. Tom will present recognition certificates to 18 participants in the Grassroots Leadership Program co-sponsored by the Batavia Chamber and GuideStar, Inc. in addition to giving a dynamic address.
