This year, due to the severe crisis in Springfield, we are going to focus on the State Legislature. So we can get an in-depth analysis of the situation in the Senate and the House, we are asking Senator Chris Lauzen and Representative Tim Schmitz to respond to the following questions:
- What do you see as the best solutions to the State government's fiscal crisis? How should revenue be increased, or costs reduced, to close the budget gap?
- What plans do you have to help the State's ailing overall economy, including specific plans to promote job growth?
- We believe these problems arose from significant structural issues with the way the State is governed. What fundamental changes are needed to prevent these problems from growing or reoccurring?
- How can members of the Chamber, and businesses in general, support your efforts?
