Batavia MainStreet picks up the Bridge Bash from last year’s 175th anniversary of Batavia and invites everyone to celebrate Labor Day weekend downtown on Sunday September 6th. The event takes place indowntown Batavia and features the “Best of Batavia” $2 food samplers at participating restaurants,an arts walk and live entertainment at the corner of N. River Street and Wilson. The bridge will remain open for the event, but N. River Street will close at 2 pm until 11 pm.
The following downtown Batavia restaurants are participating in the $2 “Best of Batavia” sampling:
- Andre’s Restaurant(5 Webster St) – Barbeque pork sandwich
- Batavia Creamery (4 N. Island Ave) Adult scoop of ice cream
- Bulldogs (32 N. Island Ave) – Mini Italian beef sandwich
- Burger King (107 N. Batavia Ave)– Whopper
- Daddio’s (134 W Wilson St) – Bulldog bites (mini cheeseburgers) or cheese fries
- El Taco Grande (6 N. River St) – Mexican pizza slice
- Fox Grill (35 N. Water St) – Mini pot roast or pulled pork sandwiches
- Limestone Coffee & Tea (15 E Wilson St) Double Cappuccino & mini scone or 8oz Raspberry Lemonade & Cookie; Loyalty Card users receive a free 1-12oz coffee or tea
- McDonald’s (125 W Wilson St) – iced or mocha latte
- O’Brien’s Pub & Grill (12 N. River St) – Irish egg roll
- Thai Village Restaurant (4 N. Batavia Ave) – various Thaidish samples or Thai iced tea or coffee
- The RendezVu Restaurant (3 E Wilson St) – Shrimp Po-Boy
- Tusk Thai (102 N. River St) – Sesame noodles, potstickers or Thai iced tea or coffee
There are no tickets to purchase for the “Best of Batavia” food tastings. Cash is accepted at each of the participating restaurant locations. Britta McKenna, event organizer states, “People are encouraged to stroll the downtown enjoying the various tastes of our downtown, stop in to see our local art at the open house locations and enjoy the live entertainment at the North River Street block party to celebrate the end of a great Batavia summer.”

The Arts Walk portion of the event features four businesses holding an Open House and hosting artists from 5-9 pm. The public is invited to visit any of the locations, denoted with an Arts Walk banner on the outside window. All the locations are located on the Wilson Street bridge.
