25th Anniversary Toy and Food Run

On Sunday October 9, 2011 at the Batavia Overseas Post VFW on Route 25, Batavia Illinois, the DuKaneChapter of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois will be holding their 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOY & FOOD RUN. This yearly event collects unwrapped new toys and non-perishable food for the DuPage/Kane County area food banks, shelters, foster homes and social servic...e agencies. Started 25 years ago as a thank you to the chapter members, DuKane has seen this event soar into attendance of the thousands! In past years attendance has been up to 5, 000 motorcyclists gathered for this worthy event. To date approximately 1.5 million worth of toys and food have been donated to the area’s most needy. This year theevent will start at 9:00am with a short motorcycle ride following registration, gathering at Knuckleheads in Elburn, Illinois to then proceed to downtown Batavia for a parade route celebrating this magnificent day of giving. Santa Claus will be leading this parade as well as having the DuPage/Kane County congressmen, senators and district representatives to speak at the event. At the end point there will be vendors such as Playground Tattoo, wood carvers, ProRider Leathers, Pinstripers, Jewelryand more! A bike show, door prizes, refreshments will also be planned. Entertainment sponsored by Fox River Harley Davidson featuring STROKER RED. Please join us for the 25th Anniversary of the Toyand Food Run. Lineup starts at 9:00am at the Batavia Overseas Post on Route 25 in Batavia. Bring anunwrapped, new toy and non-perishable food item. Cost is $10 per person.
