DESCRIPTION:The Albright Theatre Proudly Presents “Angel Street” by Patrick Hamilton.\n\nCommonly known by manyas “Gaslight”\, this thriller tells the tale of the Manninghams. All appears the essence of Victoriantranquility in their London neighborhood\, but Mr. Manningham’s sinister motives soon become apparent. He is slowly driving his gentle wife\, Bella\, to the brink of insanity with insidious kindness.  Following a lead on a murder committed 15 years ago in their home\, the amiable Inspector Rough arrives\, convinced that Mr. Manningham is the culprit.  Inspector Rough gradually restores Bella’s self-confidence while the evidence against Mr. Manningham builds.\n\nThe marriage between controlling JackManningham (Vinny Arthur Prisco of St. Charles) and his subdued wife\, Bella Manningham (Jana Sandersof Aurora)\, is full of secrets. Housemaids Elizabeth (Nancy Braus of Schaumburg) and Nancy (Katy Steele of Aurora) observe the breakdown of the doomed marriage – while each having their own hand in Mr. Manningham’s design. Detective Rough (Galen Malick) is charged with unraveling the schemes and\, ultimately\, solving the mystery with the help of Police Officer (Joel Greenblatt of Hoffman Estates).The production is supported by Co-Directors: Jan Spink (Elgin) and Mitch Jacobs (Elgin) and Stage Manager/Producer: Jennifer Ring (Batavia).\n\nCo-Director\, Mitch Jacobs\, has “…found ‘Angel Street’ aperfect vehicle to allow me to craft people and events into my vision of the perfect suspense-drama.” A suspense-drama film that his Co-Director\, Jan Spink\, has loved since she was a child: “This wasa chance to bring the thrill of that movie to the stage. I have found the play to be much more thrilling. I really hope the audiences find ‘Angel Street’ to be as exciting as I do.”  \n\n“Angel Street” will run weekends November 1 – 16. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundaysat 2 pm. Rated PG-13. The Albright Theatre Company\, 100 N.
