DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 21 Water Street Studios will be hosting another open studio event. Resident artists will have their studios open to show off some of their latest work as well as share with the public their artistic process while some artists will be working on pieces and doing demonstrations." \n\nIn conjunction with its current gallery show\, Indulge\, Water Street Studios is hosting a potluck and movie night for all members of the community on Saturday\, July 21 between 4:30p and 6p. The potluck and movies are an extension of our current show\, Indulge\, curated by Anni Holm. This show bringsart and food together in a unique way. Some of the pieces are made using food\, some of them reflecton food as a commodity or an integral way on how we interact as human beings."\n\nAll members of thepublic are welcome to attend the pot luck and are asked to RSVP by e-mail to info@waterstreetstudios.com or by phone to 630-761-9977.\n\nFollowing the potluck at 6:00p\, Mario Contreras of CG Project(TheCGProject.com) is curating a series of video work by local documentary filmmakers that chronicletheir experiences in the Slow Food Movement. The videos are all ongoing projects that continue thetradition of passing information from one grower to another at a time when hardiness zones are shifting. The videos that will be shown are as follows:\n\n    Mario Contreras and Diana Gabriel are suburban gardeners that produce The Cinematic Garden\, a web series about growing your own food in the suburbs of Chicago.\n    Arlen Parsa and Tiffany Wilson are Chicago apartment dwellers that test to boundaries of small space gardening in a web series called The Patio Gardeners.\n    Jeff and JenniferAmdur Spitz are in currently editing Food Patriots\, a documentary about how a bad food experience led them to reevaluate their food sources. The project puts the personal aspect of the Spitz family raising chickens into the larger context of the consequences of industrialized food.\n    There willalso be a short film by Kate Soczka of Mode Project called The Donut Vault\, which is about bakery with a vintage business model. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I-PtWtKI8g
