In an unusual collaboration\, Lisa' Goeslings exquisite scratch board works are the powerful visual statements to which Dave Wensel has responded. \n\n\n\nLisa's work is the result of a process wherein design\, composition\, depth/dimension and textural representational "problems" are continuously posed and expertly resolved as she works with her boards. To Wensel\, her finished pieces look as if sublime music has been rendered for the eye. \n\n\n\nTo create his responsive work\, Wensel deconstructed and redeployed certain conceptual elements of Ms. Goesling's work in montages and assemblages using only photographs he has made from his studio and in-the-field work. The resulting work is referential (and reverential) reinterpretations of Lisa's work.\n\n\n\nIn Water Street Studios' 2nd Floor Gallery\, John Kirkpatrick's energetic and expressive abstract acrylic paintings will be featured in his exhibition titled\, "On the Verge".
