DESCRIPTION:Immanuel will host its quarterly blood drive on Sunday\, January 22\, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are interested in scheduling a specific time slot\, email Immanuel at church@immanuelbatavia.org. Walk ins are welcome!\n\nPatients in our community require more than 600 pints of blood every day for surgery and treatment. The donation process takes about an hour from start to finish and includes: registration\, a health history survey\, blood pressure and an iron level check. The blood draw itself is approximately 7 to 9 minutes. Patients who benefit from blood transfusions range from a newborn\, to a teenbattling cancer\, to a trauma victim. Much of today’s medical care depends on a steady supply of blood from healthy donors.\n\nYou do not need to know your blood type to be a blood donor. To be a blood donor\, individuals must be at least 17 years old or 16 with written parental permission\; weigh atleast 110 pounds\; be symptom free of cold\, flu and allergies\; and be in general good health.
