DESCRIPTION:The first class is the Business Track will be "Building a Sustainable Business & Business Fundamentals" taught by instructor Laura McAdam (see bio below). The session will cover building a sustainable business through strategic planning\, metrics\, and evaluation. It includes looking at your entire business\, your product offerings\, your customers\, pricing\, and the 7 key financial drivers that exist in all businesses. Sales\, variable costs\, fixed costs\, fixed assets\, accounts receivable\, accounts payable\, and inventory. We will also look at different funding options from different sources\, what it takes to qualify for funding\, and how funding should be used to leverage and grow your business.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor: \n\nLaura McAdam founded Profitability NOW in 2002. Laura has over 20 years experience as a financial professional. She focuses on improving the profitability and cash flow of organizations within all industries. She focuses on strategy and alignment throughout the organization to improve financial performance. Laura utilizes a collaborative approach in identifying improvement opportunities and developing action plans for execution.\n\nLaura facilitates development sessions at conferences and industry events. She is a frequent speaker for groups and associations looking to develop their financial acumen and gain a greater understanding of how they can directly impact the financial performance of their company. She has a monthly column in HR Matters and her subject matter is The ROI of HR. Laura was controller\, treasurer\, operations manager\, and auditor for several Chicago area companies\, both public and private.
