DESCRIPTION:Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners will hold their annual Plant Sale on Saturday\, May 9th from 9 a.m. to noon at Bethany Lutheran Church at 8 S. Lincoln St\, Batavia.  \n\n \n\nMost plants are sourced from members' gardens and include natives\, perennials\, shrubs\, and trees.   Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions and provide assistance with selecting and growing the plants in your garden.\n\n \n\nThe club is also recruiting volunteers to assist with various aspects of the plant sale. Interested persons can contact us at bataviaplaindirtgardeners@gmail.com.\n\n \n\nEach year\, this sale raises funds for the club's activities\, including college scholarships\, maintaining the Wildflower Sanctuary at the Batavia Riverwalk\, the Kaleidoscope Planter and Peace Bridge Planters near City Hall\, and the Alphabet Garden at the Batavia Public Library.\n\n \n\nIn 1991\, a group of volunteers began to transform a wooded area along the Batavia Riverwalk that later became known as the Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary.  These gardeners went on to form the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners   a group that is dedicated to supporting and maintaining the Wildflower Sanctuary and other community projects while cultivating friendships and the love of gardening among experienced and novice gardeners. \n\n \n\nThe club is open to all persons interested in gardening.
