DESCRIPTION:Immanuel Lutheran Church Annual Service of Lessons & Carols\nImmanuel Lutheran Church \, 950 Hart Road\, Batavia will hold its nineteenth annual Service of Lessons & Carols on Saturday\, December 1. Theservice\, Oh Come to Us Emmanuel\, will be presented at 4 and 6 p.m. in the sanctuary and will featurethe music of Advent and Christmas along with nine scripture readings that foretell the coming of the Messiah. The Immanuel mass choir will provide the special music along with the Celebration Singersand Tongues of Fire children’s choirs. The choirs will be accompanied by a string ensemble under the direction of Charlotte Bogda\, with organist Rob Clow. Harpist Janelle Ream of Elburn returns to add her special talents to the service. The mass choir is under the direction of Sharon Dalpini\, Director of Music Ministries at Immanuel. The service will once again feature a selection from Handel’s Messiah\, the joyful anthem\, And the Glory of the Lord.
