DESCRIPTION:The Batavia Chamber is honored to welcome James D. Witt\, President & CEO of the Provena Mercy Medical Center to talk about “Health Care:  Global Issue\, Local Perspective.”Health care is a more pressing public policy issues than it has been at any time since the passage of the Medicare legislation in 1965. Technology is expanding exponentially\, new pharmaceuticals are continually available to treat both acute and chronic health conditions\, but cost pressures and access gaps continue to grow.  Health care policy is a national issue\, but health care is delivered locally.  Provena Mercy has had a key role in the health care in the Fox Valley since 1911.\nNOTE: Please park in the front of the hospital (white building) and enter through the main entrance which has the large overhang.  Take the elevator to the lower level.  The luncheon\nwill take place in the McAuley/Buckley conference rooms.
