\nThe City of Batavia'\;s Emergency Services &\; Disaster Agency (ESDA) is a volunteer organization that supports the City'\;s emergency preparedness\, response\, and recovery efforts. Working alongside public safety agencies and City departments\, ESDA helps protect the community before\, during\, and after emergencies.
\n\nESDA'\;s mission is to provide trained volunteer personnel to assist the City through the four phases of emergency management:
\n\nMitigation &ndash\; Reducing the impacts of potential hazards.
\nPreparedness &ndash\; Planning\, training\, and educating the community before emergencies occur.
\nResponse &ndash\; Assisting emergency responders during incidents and disasters.
\nRecovery &ndash\; Supporting community recovery following emergencies.
\nBatavia ESDA supports emergency management efforts through a variety of services\, including:
\n\nOperating and maintaining the City'\;s outdoor warning siren system.
\nEducating residents on emergency preparedness and disaster safety.
\nDeveloping and conducting emergency management training for City staff and volunteers.
\nCoordinating with relief organizations to support disaster response and recovery.
\nAssessing potential hazards and notifying City officials of emerging threats.
\nSupporting the Incident Command System (ICS) during emergency incidents.
\nAssisting with public information and emergency communications.
\nCoordinating emergency lighting and portable power generation at incident scenes.
\nSupporting City departments during emergencies and special incidents.
\nManaging the City'\;s emergency supplies and backup communications equipment.
\nAssisting with disaster recovery operations and community restoration efforts.
